That's a shame! What are you going to do with her?
I just got her but she looks just like my old Kaya. I'm kinda disappointed. I was hoping there would be a difference. The only thing i've noticed is that she has a mark that looks like a grease stain on the front of her dress. My other Kaya has a tiny dot in the same place but it isn't as obvious.
I think i'll try the blush on her. I'd like her to have a little different skin tone then the other Kaya. Maybe i'll dress her in some modern clothes too. I might even get brave and take her hair out of the braids. I haven't played with the other Kaya at all since i love her and i'm afraid i'll ruin her.
I read somewhere on this board before that the grease stain on Kaya's dress is supposed to be there.
Can you take pics of both Kayas?? Do they both say 2002 on their necks?
The "stain" on her dress is supposed to be there.
Check out this thread, it's the tail of the deers that the dresses are made of. Or from berries, no one here seems to know. It makes more sense to be the deer tails, imo, as Skittl says in the thread, all of the women in the books' illustrations have them in the same places on their dresses.
Edit: I see Jessica mentioned this, it took me about 20 minutes to find the thread, so I guess I was a bit behind.

Was it the color you didn't like about your Kaya? I hope I'm remembering correctly. If so, I think sometimes the different colors we see with others' dolls are because of what the dolls are wearing, our camera settings, and how light or dark it is in the room, rather than that there are huge differences with the coloration.
I like the suggestions others gave before about adding makeup. Putting a bit of Vaseline on their lips (I use clear lip gloss) helps a lot--I got this tip from Marie Osmond (well, not in person)!

I remember reading somewhere about a "thumb print" on the dress. It's pretty big on my new one but much more subtle on the old. Sorry i can't take pictures of the 2 dolls. I'm sadly lacking in high tech stuff. We even have rotary phones in my house. It is the skin tone that bothers me. I'd love a Kaya with a rosier cheeks so i think i'll try the makeup.
